  About St. Timothy's Church

St. Timothy's Church began in the winter of 2004, the fruit of three faithful Christians who longed for a faithful, orthodox parish where
they could worship and serve the Lord.

Today, we worship God using the biblical and Christ-honoring liturgy of the traditional Anglican Book of Common Prayer. We look to the holy Bible to teach us how to know God and how to live to please him and serve others. We uphold the traditional devotions and morals of the Christian Church throughout the ages. We expect the Holy Spirit to transform us into faithful children of God, and we pray the same for others.

If you are looking for a parish that preaches the Good News of Salvation and Life through Jesus Christ; If you are looking for a parish that believes and teaches the Word of God, and that worships the Triune God in the ways set forth in Scripture; If you are looking for a parish that believes we can live and love as Jesus does, then St. Timothy's Church is the parish for you.

Our Leadership

The Right Reverend Royal U. Grote
Bishop Ordinary, Diocese of Mid America (REC)

Bishop Grote served as a parish priest in the north-eastern United States, especially New Jersey, before being consecrated as assisting bishop in that Diocese. In 1991, the General Council of the REC made Bishop Grote a missionary bishop and tasked him with growing a new diocese. The Diocese of Mid America is the fruit of that historic mission.  Beginning with just 6 parishes and missions, today the diocese is rapidly approaching 50 parishes and missions.

The Reverend Canon Brad Cunningham
Rector of St. Timothy's Church

Canon Missioner of the Diocese of Mid America
After 6 years in the United States Navy, Fr. Brad attended Birmingham-Southern College and Cranmer Theological House. Following ordination to the diaconate, Fr. Brad served in the Episcopal Diocese of Florida.  In 2001, Fr. Brad was made a priest and became the founding priest of St. James Mission. In 2004, St. James Church gave birth to a daughter parish when Fr. Brad became the founding priest of St. Timothy's Mission in Jonesboro, AR.

In addition to serving as rector, Fr. Brad also serves as Canon Missioner for the Diocese of Mid America. As Missioner, Canon Cunningham assists the Bishop of the Diocese in developing new mission parishes and in helping small parishes or transfer parishes.

Fr. Brad and his wife Diana will soon celebrate their 13th anniversary. They have (at least) five children - four daughters and one son.

The Reverend Michael Mobley
Assistant Rector of St. Timothy's Church

Fr. Michael is a native of eastern Tennessee. After graduating from the University of Tennessee, Fr. Michael attended Dallas Theological Seminary. While at Seminary, Fr. Michael converted from the Baptist faith to the Anglican Church through the ministry of the Reformed Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion. At Holy Communion he studied Anglicanism through Cranmer Theological House and served first as a layman and then as a deacon. In 2005, Fr. Michael accepted the call to be rector of parish in lower Alabama. In late 2007, Fr. Michael joined St. Timothy's Church as Assistant Rector in charge of ministry to families with children and youth.

Fr. Michael and his wife Alyssa have been married for more than ten years. They have one son, and a house full of pets.
